Spending a month in Raja Ampat was a wonderful way to start 2024! Two 10-night voyages on the oh so lovable Coralia split by 3 nights at Papua Explorers Eco resort. Snorkeling Etc. took over Papua Explorers for those nights and it was very festive to 26 snorkelers there at the same time!
We had fair weather for the entire month and covered lots of territory on each trip-from Misool up to Alyui Bay. The crowd favorites were Gorgonian Channel in Misool and the channel in Alyui Bay that the Coralia has renamed “Wendy’s playground”.
And of course the Manta cleaning stations provided lots of WOW moments!

While snorkeling at Friwin Bonda several of us got a treat when a Dugong swam right by us. Did I get a picture? No, I was so taken by surprise that I could only gawk and appreciate the speed and beauty of Ms. Dugong.
It was sad to say farewell, but I look forward to a return to Raja Ampat for another month, in February 2025.
