Papua New Guinea. Truly one of the most unique places in the world.
I have so many feelings at once when describing the experience. It was a truly remarkable trip, exhilarating, exhausting and exasperating all at once!
Our group of 16 intrepid travelers were part of a cultural festival in the Highlands. It was a colorful extravaganza of dancing and singing by local tribes. We cruised down the Sepik River visiting remote river communities and we snorkeled Kimbe Bay and the Witu Islands on the Oceania liveaboard. One of two liveaboards that operate in the whole country.
This was a trip on The Road Less Traveled. Virtually no other tourists, very kind and welcoming people, mind-blowing experiences. The exasperating part?… don’t get me started about Air Niugini!
Overall, a fantastic, once in a lifetime experience!
Cheers,
