How many ways are there to say bliss, nirvana, supreme happiness?
In February 2025, I had the pleasure of escorting back to back voyages in Raja Ampat aboard the Coralia. Due to bleaching in the Dampier straits we focused on the magnificent reefs in Misool and Aljui Bay in the north.
What’s better than being surrounded by beauty, nature and friends?
There were so many moments of awe. We were enthralled by herds of bumpheads, pulsating jellyfish (stingless), graceful mantas, hunting cuttlefish and the sheer breath-breathtaking beauty of the reefs.
Aljui Bay never fails to disappoint. I was especially excited to see numerous nudibranchs mating. After so many years in the water I don’t have many firsts. This was a first, second and a third!
When traveling companion Karen said ”why don’t we stay on board for a year”, I have to admit, I thought yeah…in fact, why not stay submerged for the next 4 years!
I very much look forward to several voyages in Raja Ampat and beyond in 2026!
