Palau is a small country but it’s a biggie on my list of most awesome places to snorkel. How many other small island nations can you go and snorkel with mandarin fish, swooping mantas in every direction, thrilling channels with schools of fish, jacks and sharks.

We were there during a New Moon and we were privileged to see courtship behavior large and small. What a kick to see hundreds of spawning bumpheads, snappers and even a turtle pas de deux.
Even after many return trips to Palau, I am eager to return. I’m still seeing those Mantas in my dreams!
