Wakatobi snorkel week. New departure due to popular demand!

Wakatobi is a luxury eco resort renown for it’s vibrant reefs, diverse and abundant sea life in a spectacular setting. You will enjoy a level of service, remoteness and tranquility rarely found anywhere else on the planet. Best of all, access to the the reefs begin right from the beach.

Wakatobi is located in S.E. Sulawesi within a National Marine Park that is widely recognized as having the highest number of coral and fish species in the world.
There are over 500 species of reef building coral in a wonderful array of colors, shapes and sizes that are home to schools of reef fish. This complex underwater ecosystem offers everything from eel grass and sea turtles to more exotic critters like octopus, frogfish and cuttlefish. Jacques Cousteau called it “Underwater Nirvana”.

This remote eco-resort has earned numerous awards and rave reviews. My past groups were very well taken care of and were reluctant to leave! The barefoot ambiance, the healthy,delicious meals plus the super friendly staff makes Wakatobi a real winner.

Besides surprising good beach snorkeling your stay includes four days of exploring the outer reefs by boat. There are over 40 nearby snorkel sites you will enjoy during each day trip. One feature I particularly enjoyed was being able to night snorkel right off the pier in front of the resort. I regularly saw octopi, scorpion fish, twin spotted lion fish and prowling lobsters.

This is a snorkeler’s dream vacation. You will have time to snorkel as much as you like as well as ample time to relax with a book under a palm tree or indulge in a massage at the luxurious spa.

Gourmet meals are included in a relaxed and elegant indoor/outdoor setting.

Itinerary:
Your eight night adventure begins on July 6, 2017.
July 6  Meet your fellow travelers for dinner in your group hotel in Bali.
July 7  Early morning departure on your included charter flight to Wakatobi.
July 7-14 The next seven nights feature time to swim, snorkel, relax, or have a spa treatment. You have your choice of a Palm Bungalow or an Ocean Bungalow. Both are lovely.
Four days of boat excursions to the outer reefs. We will have boat dedicated to our group of snorkelers accompanied by Wakatobi snorkel guides.
July 14 We will depart Wakatobi late morning and we’ll arrive back in Bali around 3:00 pm. If you have a flight after 6:00 pm you can fly onward on June 14th. Otherwise you are free to continue your explorations in Bali or fly home on June 13th (Accommodations on June 14th are not included).

What to expect:

• This departure will be escorted by experienced group leaders Carol May and Chris Wilkinson. Chris and Carol teach marine biology/biology in BC Canada.  Carol and Chris are happy to share their knowledge of marine life, photography and free diving.  You’ll  find them warm, helpful and informative!
• This is a snorkel-intensive program. You should be a proficient swimmer/snorkeler able to snorkel unassisted.
• Days that feature boat outings offer approx. two 2-hour sessions.
• Snorkel sessions are accompanied by the helpful and experienced crew provided by Wakatobi Resort.
• Evenings are free to enjoy the sunset, a leisurely dinner and the company of your fellow travelers.

Wakatobi Trip Costs Include:

• 1 night in Bali on July 6  in our group hotel with dinner.
• 7 nights in Wakatobi, with all meals, unlimited shore snorkeling and 4 days of snorkeling the outer reefs by boat.
