My first trip to Fiji was in the late 70’s and I’ve returned half a dozen times. There are so many reasons why. First of all the Fijians – they are truly some of the most beautiful and friendly people in the world and are genuinely welcoming. As you walk through a village you will hear a chorus of “Bula” which means hello. Big smiles are returned easily and it’s a delight to travel around.

The second great reason to visit Fiji is the scenery. There is a variety of topography, from verdant mountains and waterfalls to small tropical islands with perfect white sand beaches. And then there is the ocean…. my passion! There is something glorious to see in every direction! The healthy reefs are home to over 1000 species of fish.

Fiji is the soft coral capital of the world. Soft corals come in an explosion of oranges, reds and greens and in many fantastic shapes.

Our adventure will be aboard the highly regarded live-aboard the Nai’a. The Nai’a is a 120-foot motorsailer that accommodates 18 passengers in 9 ensuite staterooms. The friendly and experienced crew of 13 will make sure we have a safe and enjoyable adventure!

Our journey on the Nai’a starts and ends in Lautoka, just north of Nadi (where the international airport is located). We’ll head northeast towards the barrier reefs and large lagoons of Lomaivit, Namena and the “Bligh water”.

Coral growth and fish action are most robust on these outer barrier reefs. The barrier reefs are remote and vast – a long way from shore bases. Traveling by live-aboard allows us access to these gorgeous reefs. We will encounter few other Liveaboards during our trip — it will feel like our own private pristine Fiji.

We will maximize the conditions and stop in protected areas with vibrant reefs and prolific marine life. We’ll also interact with locals in traditional villages that are not frequently visited.

Pricing  

All cabins are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms. The cabins are bright, airy and comfortable.

7 night cruise is $3534.00 per person based on 2 people sharing a stateroom.

There is one single available for $5200.00

Price includes:

• 7 nights accommodations on the Nai’a
• Transfer to the ship from the airport or hotel in the Nadi area, and transfers back to Nadi at end of trip,
• All meals on-board.

Not included:

• Gratuities for crew
• Alcoholic beverages (other than house wine served at dinner)
• Fuel surcharge. Currently the surcharge is $114.00 a person.
• Insurance. Trip cancellation and evacuation insurance is essential
• International airfare
