Can I just say, I love my life! I feel so incredibly fortunate to do something I love so much, with such wonderful travelers that savor adventure, beauty and nature as much as I do. Stepping out of the day to day life is challenging but once you are in the “zone” it’s soooo awesome to stay in that suspended state of reality as long as you can. Each day is more relaxed and joyful.
The combination of a 12-night liveaboard voyaging through the Alor and Komodo islands, followed by a week of sensational snorkeling at Wakatobi made for bountiful happiness.
We saw no other boat in Alor. The colorful reefs were bursting with marine life were ours to explore. Lots of unusual finds like 11 seahorses during one snorkel, a flying gunard, a number of nudibranchs including Shaun the Sheep! Fearless mantis shrimps posed for us and porcelain crabs came out of hiding to say hello.
Of course Komodo thrilled us with drift snorkels and graceful mantas. At Komodo National Park we saw numerous dragons including a baby hiding high in a tree.
Wakatobi..sheer bliss. Just leave me on the house reef forever and I’ll be happy. Every fish in the book are on the pristine reefs. I don’t know what’s in the water but those fish are so relaxed and unafraid. But really, you can tell what a good job the resort does to prevent fishing.
Greatest staff, food and reefs ever.
Each trip was indescribably wonderful. After a month in Indonesia the only thing I can say is, if a little is good, a lot is better.
Thank you dear travelers for sharing the love.
