Life is good!
August of 2025 was full of unforgettable adventures in Indonesia. It was an ambitious undertaking to combine two far flung regions of Indonesia into one glorious month long trip!

If you love Whale Sharks, you have to go to Cenderawasih!  It’s a whale shark lovefest. Well, on our part anyway. I’m not sure how the whale sharks felt!  We spent many hours over a two day period with whale sharks swimming all around us as they eat the bycatch from the local fishing bagans.  We had to pay attention to move out of the way as they came around us from every direction. It was a glorious experience! Cenderawasih Bay, the largest marine park in Indonesia, wasn’t just about whale sharks. we snorkeled some wonderful reefs and visited welcoming, delightful villages.  One of our travelers was so enchanted by the village visits, I thought a certain David Little, might miss the boat on purpose.

The adventures continued in N Sulawesi.
Our group stayed at the Coral Eye in Bangka and Siladen Resort near Bunaken National marine park. Both resorts were wonderful and offered different underwater highlights. We also spent a day at the Tangkoko Nature reserve and saw Celebes crested Macaques, Tarsiers, Kingfishers and even a green viper snake.
Indonesia continues to inspire and enchant me. So much amazing diversity. So much more to explore!
