Alluring Alami Alor! September 11-19, 2027

ALAMI ALOR is on Alor Island, located at the eastern end of the Nusa Tenggara island chain, 1050 miles east of Bali.
This hidden gem isn’t easy to get to, but the remote location and pristine reefs are what makes this resort so special. There is a “back in time” authentic Indonesia feeling with the people and on the Island. It’s secluded enough that it’s rare to see other divers and snorkelers on the reefs.

Alor offers the chance to snorkel in multiple underwater environments  The thriving Pantar Strait is known for gorgeous coral walls and and fields of anemones.  Cold water from southern seas push through to the north.  This upwelling produces densely covered reefs, swirling with schools of fish. Perfect conditions for fantastic snorkeling!

Kalabahi Bay features a very different underwater environment. This area has black sand and volcanic rock slopes. This environment is ideal for a treasure hunt known as muck snorkeling.  With the help of our eagle-eyed guides we’ll look out for all kinds of cryptic critters like wunderpus, bobtail squid, frogfish and nudibranchs.

Not only will we have the luxury of snorkeling on healthy and uncrowded reefs, we will also have the entire Alami Alor resort and  boats reserved for our exclusive use!

Boat rides to the snorkeling can be exciting in themselves with the chance to encounter multiple species of dolphins, whales or even a mola-mola!  Bottle nose and spinner dolphins are spotted often and at times joined by large pods of melon-headed whales. Blue whales can be spotted randomly at any time,

Alami Alor is situated in a tropical forest along Alor Island’s volcanic rocky coastline. The resort features eight lovely waterfront bungalows.

The bedrooms are air-conditioned and feature a full view of the ocean.  Each bungalow has an open-air garden bathroom.
You have a choice of a bungalow with 1 king bed, or 1 king plus a single spring bed. In-between adventures you can relax on your deck in a hammock or lounge chairs.

The Resort features an inviting waterfront infinity pool to cool off in during the day.
All meals are included. Breakfast is a choice of western or Indonesian options, while lunch and dinner is a home style Indonesian & tropical themed menu. Vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements are easily catered to.

During your time at Alami Alor, seven guided boat snorkels are included to nearby reefs.
The resort operates comfortable speedboats with a full canopy for sun protection. Distances from the resort are short, a maximum of thirty minutes.

The house reef has prolific marine life. You’ll be allowed ample time to explore and discover the wonders that are just steps from your bungalow.

From morning until evening, you can look out for octopi, swimming eels, lobsters in their holes, pipefish, batfish and plenty of schooling fish circling at the surface. At the right tide, juvenile black-tip reef sharks prowl the shallow reef top chasing small fish.
At sunset, the guides are happy to explore and  find resident mandarin fish that live in the shallow water just feet from the jetty.

If you are a keen photographer wishing to increase your skills, Alami Alor offers private or group coaching and workshops.  General underwater photography skills, and specialized techniques for macro and wide angle photography, are taught by an on-site Photo Pro.

TRIP SCHEDULE:
SEPTEMBER 11, 2027  Upon your arrival to Alor, there will be a driver waiting outside the airport for our group.  The transfer from the airport to the resort is approximately one hour by car.

SEPTEMBER 11-18, 2027
The daily schedule will look something like :
07:30 – 09:00  Breakfast
09:00  Most mornings there will be a two-hour guided snorkel by boat in the Pantar Strait or Kalabahi Bay.
Two  mornings will be free to take advantage of morning light on the house reef and boat snorkels will be in the afternoon.
12:30/13:00  Lunch
Most afternoons and evenings are free to explore the house reef which is fantastic both in the daytime, plus for sunset (mandarin fish!) and also for night snorkeling. Optional boat snorkels can be arranged, as well as dive trips for certified divers.
18:00   Cocktail Hour for socializing and discussion marine life spotted that day. There will also be scheduled presentations on local marine life and culture.
19:00   Dinner

SEPTEMBER 19, 2027
On the last day of your stay, you will be transferred back to the airport in time for your departing flight.

Longer stays can easily be arrange. If you are interested in extending your time at Alami Alor, contact Snorkeling Etc as early as possible to reserve extra nights.
